A Reason to Rejoice

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Esther was orphaned as a child, yet she rose to become a queen. Jospeh was betrayed by his brothers and left to die, yet he rose to prominence and prestige. Jairus' daughter was dead, yet she was raised back to life. And Jesus was born in a manger, yet He was the Savior of the world.

In the darkest moments of our lives, we are tempted to lose all hope, being unable to see the future of possibilities. Pain, disappointment, loss, shame and defeat can creep its way into our hearts. But we have a God who has ordained each day of our lives. Our beginning does not have to dictate our end and the Bible testifies to the Lord's ability to create beauty out of ashes.

"But the angel said to them," Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord." Luke 2:20-11

On that day in a dirty manger, the Savior of the world was born. No one could have predicted how His story would end. Many who saw this baby didn't even know that they were in the presence of the King of Kings.

We have yet to know the stories about the women and children served by Caris. God has ordained each day of their lives before even one of them came to be. Despite the hopelessness and despair felt by many of these women, God sees promise and purpose. We serve a God who can speak life into any circumstance. And that is a reason to rejoice!
